SUMMARY:Drawing Knowledge
DESCRIPTION:What can a drawing show us that a building cannot? \nThis exhibition presents one of the largest private collections of architectural drawings of Rajasthan’s forts and palaces\, from Jaisalmer and Amber to Mehrangarh and Hawa Mahal. Each drawing is the product of years of research and meticulous documentation\, recording the walls\, courtyards\, and water systems that shaped life inside these buildings. \nComprehensive documentation of such places is increasingly scarce. Digitised and opened to the public\, this collection gives researchers\, students\, and curious visitors access to study the details closely\, now and for generations to come. \nExhibition Opening: 6:30pm\, Fri\, Nov 13\nExhibition Timings: 11am – 8pm | Fri\, Nov 13 – Sun\, Nov 15\nExhibition on show until: 8pm | Sun\, Nov 15 \nWalkthroughs:\n6:30pm | Fri\, Nov 13\n11am & 5:30pm | Sat\, Nov 14\n11am & 5:30pm | Sun\, Nov 15 \nBeyond the Lines | 7pm – 8:30pm | Fri\, Nov 13\nA panel discussion exploring how architectural drawings of Rajasthan’s forts and palaces serve as archives of architectural\, social and cultural knowledge\, and their potential for future scholarship.\n \nClimate Resilience and Resource Intelligence through Architecture | 11:30am-1pm | Sat\, Nov 14\nA collaborative workshop inviting participants to read architectural drawings from the exhibition to discover how Rajasthan’s forts and palaces responded to their climate\, resources\, water needs and military strategies.\n \nHealth\, Heritage and Architecture | 6pm – 8pm | Nov 14\nA workshop exploring how traditional architecture created cool\, airy\, bright and healthy spaces without electricity\, using drawings from the exhibition. \nIn collaboration with: \n \nVenue: Gallery\n\n\nRajasthan’s Forts and Palaces\, Drawn in Detail\nRSVP here (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfMmVZo_95Da9reBG1imWk_CRgxyR5awyQsdreZwiGTULhHOQ/viewform?usp=publish-editor)\n*Curatorial Team*: Meghal Arya\, Vijay Arya\n*Event Categories*: Architecture\, Cities\, Culture\, History
