DESCRIPTION:What do midday and mid-octave have in common? \nThis Hindustani classical concert traces the ancient bond between melody\, time of day\, and the rhythms of nature. The science has been carried by the Shastras through generations\, where ragas rise and fall with the turning of the day. \nThe Shastras divide the day into eight three-hour blocks\, or prahars\, mirroring the eight notes of an octave. Each prahar calls for ragas suited to invoke a particular state of mind; experienced consecutively\, the impact is undeniable.
