SUMMARY:Barefoot Tales: Read. Wonder. Wander.
DESCRIPTION:This event features multiple sessions under the Barefoot Earth initiative\, encouraging children to know\, understand\, and care for the Earth. \nLet the Elephants Bee | Sreevalli Sreenivasan | For Ages 8+\nThis interactive storytelling session is centred around Sreevalli Sreenivasan’s Let the Elephants Bee\, published by Bookosmia. Set against the beautiful landscapes of Africa\, the story follows young Akinyi as she searches for a peaceful way to protect her family’s crops without harming the elephants she deeply cares for. The story is inspired by the real-world use of beehives to gently deter elephants from entering farms\, introducing children to an innovative conservation approach while promoting empathy for wildlife and peaceful coexistence. \nThe Poochi Zoo | Anusha Krishnan | For Ages 9-11\nThis nature quiz is based on Anusha Krishnan’s The Poochi Zoo\, published by Bookosmia. What begins as the disappointment of a cancelled trip to the zoo soon turns into an unforgettable adventure\, as four curious cousins discover a fascinating world hidden inside ordinary pea and bean pods. Young readers will be inspired to explore the world around them\, ask questions\, think creatively\, and appreciate the tiny creatures that share our environment. \nAlphabet Soup for the Young Environmentalist | Meena Raghunathan | For Ages 10–14\nThis interactive storytelling session features Meena Raghunathan’s Alphabet Soup for the Young Environmentalist\, illustrated by Pooja Saklani\, and published by Bookosmia. A journey through the world of nature and sustainability\, it introduces young readers to important environmental concepts\, real-world challenges\, and simple\, practical actions they can take to protect our planet. \nYoung Voices on Nature: Celebrating Three Published Young Environmental Authors | For All Ages\nThis panel discussion with the three young authors explores environmental education and the power of storytelling to inspire our youth.  \nAround the World in 50 Sundays is a journey that begins\, not with a ticket\, but with opening a book. In a city like Bangalore where families are always in motion\, the BIC Library hopes to offer stillness and a quiet\, welcoming space for both parents and children where reading becomes a shared experience. \nEvery Sunday\, we open our doors to invite you into a library that listens; building a rhythm of return\, a habit of joy and a new community bound not just by books\, but by the weekly ritual of reading together. \nWe welcome your ideas and input. If you have suggestions for children’s events or activities that align with this vision\, we’d love to hear from you. Please reach out to us at library@bangaloreinternationalcentre.org \nIn collaboration with: \n \nSupported by:\n \n\n\nNature Stories for Children Who Want to Feel the Earth\nSeparate Sessions for Ages 8 | 9-11 | 10-14\nRSVPs will open Tue\, Jul 28 at 12pm.\n*Facilitators*: Anusha Krishnan\, Meena Raghunathan\, Sreevalli Sreenivasan\n*Event Categories*: Around the World in 50 Sundays
